Body identified as Wai'anae man's

The man whose body was found Thursday near Tripler Army Medical Center has been identified by the city's medical examiner as Ronald H. Keaweehu, 55, of Wai'anae.

According to the medical examiner, Keaweehu was struck by an iron bar and run over by a trailer as he attempted to attach a trailer to a tractor. Keaweehu died of multiple internal injuries, the medical examiner said.

The death was classified as a non-traffic motor vehicle accident, the medical examiner said.

Keaweehu, a civilian, was found about 3 p.m. on Thursday lying next to a truck near the hospital, said Army spokeswoman Amy Alie. Four employees of a local civilian contractor found Keaweehu's body and called 911.

Teen held on DUI being investigated

A 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence, and police are investigating other charges connected with a rampage earlier that day at his mother's Pearl City home.

Police said the man earlier had arrived at his mother's Third Street home and appeared intoxicated. When his mother told him to leave, he became angry and threatened his brother, 18, with a baseball bat and tire iron.

The elder brother then tried to re-enter the house. The suspect swung a baseball bat at the house, police said, and accidentally struck his mother in the mouth.

He was arrested at 4:25 p.m. on the DUI charge. Investigation is continuing into terroristic threatening, criminal property damage and burglary charges, police said.
