• Hawai'i Dental Service has hired MILES M. KUBO as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer. He is former executive vice president of Alaka'i Mechanical Corp., as well as the company's chief financial/administrative officer and corporate board of directors member.

BRADFORD D. JENCKS, a former general manager of the Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu and a veteran in management of other four- and five-star hotels, has been named general manager of the Turtle Bay Resort at Kahuku. He most recently was area vice president for Hilton Hotels Corp. properties in Washington state and Alaska. His local experience includes Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts, based in Honolulu. He is a former general manager of the Maui Inter-Continental Resort at Wailea and a former vice president of Outrigger Hotels Hawai'i. The Turtle Bay Resort, with 485 guest rooms, is a Benchmark Hospitality property.

CAROL SOUZA of Honolulu Publishing Company Ltd. is the new associate publisher for Aloha Airlines' in-flight magazine, Spirit of Aloha. She has been the publication's account manager since 1997. She will be responsible for overall client management for the publication as well as special project operation and development.

DONOVAN DELA CRUZ has been named director of marketing for Watermark Publishing. He will manage sales, marketing, public relations and advertising. He has an extensive background in public relations and marketing and is a best-selling author.

AULII CHUNG recently accepted the position of worksite director for the American Heart Association of Hawai'i. She will oversee such fund-raisers as the King & Queen of Hearts Campaign. She will also help company's educate employees on stroke and heart attack prevention and assist in coordinating health fairs.

KEVIN WILLS has joined the Outrigger Wailea Resort as director of food and beverage. He replaces Michael Pastula, who left Outrigger to open his own restaurant. Wills' 15 years of experience in food, beverage and restaurant management include nine years at Hyatt Hotels and a stint at the Mirage at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss.

• Summit Lending of Hawaii has promoted NORA YOSHIKANE from accountant to finance manager in its secondary marketing and accounting department. Her duties include accounting and loan pricing. She oversees a staff of four responsible for creating loan rate sheets and locking loans with brokers and investors.

• SCOTT O'BRIEN, vice president of finance and sales at Valenti Print Group, has been elected president of the Pacific Printing & Imaging Association and Printed in Hawaii Association. Other association officers are: vice president, MATT HEIM, president of Electric Pencil; secretary, EDITH KAWASHIMA, office manager of Clarence Lee Design; treasurer and outgoing president, ERWIN HUDELIST, president of Hagadone Printing; and assistant treasurer, JODY KADOKAWA, regional sales manager of Spicers Paper Inc. MARK IBARA, president of Edward Enterprises, has been named an association director.

Heads of committees are: government affairs chairman, ROY YAMASHIROYA, chairman & chief executive officer of Service Printers; PIHA chairman, DON OJIRI, president of Obun Hawaii; program chairman, GLENN PAUL, general manager of xpedx; membership co-chairmen, KEN SLAVIK, chief executive officer of General Printing Co., and HARRIS NAKAMURA, account executive at PaperSource Hawaii.
