BYUH blitzes Billings

Alexus Foyle had 23 points and 11 rebounds as Brigham Young-Hawai'i blitzed Montana State-Billings, 94-76, last night in a Pacific West Conference men's basketball game at La'ie.

The loss was the third in a row in Hawai'i for Montana State-Billings, which fell out of the conference lead at 9-5. Montana State-Billings (19-6 overall) is a half-game back of Hawai'i Pacific (17-6, 8-3).

Keli'i Naihe added 22 points, Scott Salisbury had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Yuta Tabuse contributed 14 assists for BYUH (16-8, 7-4).

Danny Phillips led Montana State-Billings with 18 points.

In other PacWest games last night, Chaminade edged Hawai'i-Hilo, 69-67, and Hawai'i Pacific beat Western New Mexico, 78-71.

Mike Donegan had 16 points and eight rebounds for Chaminade (14-9, 6-5); Scott Prather scored 18 points for Hilo (16-7, 6-5); Nick Spajic scored 22 points and Leandro Maruoka added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Hawai'i Pacific, and Malcolm Connor had 25 points and nine rebounds for Western New Mexico (1-20, 0-14).

SOFTBALL

UHH wins Klassic: Kristine Kahoali'i pitched a six-hitter as Hawai'i-Hilo beat Chaminade, 5-0, in the championship game of the Ko'olau Klassic at the Brigham Young-Hawai'i field.

Earlier in the day, Chaminade beat Hawai'i Pacific, 3-2, and routed Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.), 13-2; Hawai'i-Hilo beat Concordia-Irvine (Calif.), 3-1; and Concordia beat BYUH, 6-1.
