'Opihi picker still missing

Advertiser Staff

MALIKO, Maui — Fire rescuers resumed an air search today off the Ha'iku coast after yesterday's hunt failed to locate an 'opihi picker who was last seen Monday morning.

The 35-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was reported missing yesterday morning. His car was still parked at Maliko Bay and an 'opihi knife and several loose 'opihi were found on the rocks, but there was no sign of the man, fire officials said.

This morning surf conditions were too rough to resume a shoreline ground search, officials said.
