Tonight's Must-See

"Winter Olympics," primetime: 6:30 p.m., NBC, also, on CNBC and on MSNBC. One of the fastest sports reaches its finals for men and women. That's the skeleton, which looks a lot like a sled, with competitors whizzing down slopes head down and head first at speeds of up to 90 mph. Prime time also has speedskating finals for men's 1,500-meter and for women's 3,000-meter relay, and women slalom skiing and 1,500-meter speedskating. Then come quarterfinals of men's hockey, with two games on MSNBC, two on CNBC.

"The Bernie Mac Show," 9 p.m., Fox. This might be a good time to start watching this above-average comedy. Bernie gets protective when Vanessa (his 13-year-old niece) starts dating. She plots revenge.

Of Note

"Grounded for Life," 7:30 p.m., Fox. Sean ends up in a charity boxing match. Meanwhile, his wife, Claudia, finds herself becoming a sex object in the stands.

"Breakdown" (1997), 8 p.m., CBS. Kurt Russell and Kathleen Quinlan play an ordinary couple whose vehicle breaks down. He goes for help and she disappears. A solid thriller with menacing work by the late J.T. Walsh, as a trucker.
