Concert will benefit Pavao kids

Dennis Pavao, falsetto singer and former member of Hui 'Ohana who died Jan. 18, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kapono's, Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Performers will include Jake Shimabukuro of Colón, 'Ale'a, Cyril Pahinui, John Cruz, Na 'O'iwi, Maunalua, Darren Benitez, Willie K, Henry Kapono, Kapena, Chinky Mahoe & Hula Halau Kawaili'ula, Robi Kahakalau and Jeff Razmussen, Ernie Cruz, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom & Barry Flanagan, Del

Beazley & Dwight Kanae, Jerry Santos & Byran Tolentino and Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett.

Pavao was a Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner, who formed Hui 'Ohana with cousins Ledward and Nedward Ka'apana. As a soloist, his 1987 "Na Leo Ki'eki'e" earned him Male Vocalist of the Year honors.

Tickets: $15, on sale in advance at Borders stores and Kapono's; also at the door.

Proceeds are for Pavao's children.
