Achievers

Alyson Kusatsu, a graduate student at Hawai'i Pacific University, has been named the first recipient of the Laura Jean Armstrong Scholarship. Kusatsu received a $1,000 tuition award.

Camille Norana Coates of Hana High School and Wilson Angelito Unga of Kahuku High School have been selected as delegates to the 40th Anniversary U.S. Senate Youth Program. Coates and Unga are the only Hawai'i students among 104 nationwide who will each receive an all-expenses-paid trip in March to Washington, D.C., and a $2,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies.

The winners of the Student Aloha Poster Contest, sponsored by the Aloha United Way Student Aloha Program, are: Anton Tran of Ala Wai Elementary School, first place; Rochelle T. Sao of Waipahu Elementary, second place; and Jiwon Lee of Ala Wai Elementary, third place. The winners received $100, $50 and $25, respectively.
