Tokyo flight to resume in May

Japan Airlines plans to restore a daily Tokyo-Honolulu flight in May, a month earlier than planned, the airline said.
The airline cut its three daily flights to two after Sept. 11, and planned to restore the flight in June.
But JAL said higher demand makes it possible to restore the flight sooner. The airline said the travel outlook is improving, even though Japan is still bogged down in another recession.
Kiyoshi Mukumoto, vice president-Japan for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, said he expects the number of flights from all parts of Japan to be fully back to normal by summer.
