Tonight's Must-See

"The 44th Annual Grammy Awards," 7 p.m., CBS. The Grammys always put on a strong show. This is live entertainment with the emphasis on people who can really perform — not just look good in a video. There's also a bonus: Jon Stewart — the witty anchor of the wonderful "Daily Show" — returns as host. Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Pink and Mya will repeat their overcrowded "Lady Marmalade," with Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott joining. Lots of musicians are set to appear — Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child, Nelly, U2, Dave Matthews, 'N Sync, Outcast, Train, Alejandro Sanz — plus country's Alan Jackson and the bluegrass singers from the soundtrack of "O Brother Where Art Thou?" Meanwhile, Al Green will get the Lifetime Achievement Award and do a gospel medley with Brian McKnight. This should be fun.

Of Note

"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. Kelly Ripa is known as Regis Philbin's talk-show partner. She's also a soap actress, however, and tonight she plays a mysterious beauty who lures Ed into an eccentric romance.
