Tonight's Must-See
"The 44th Annual Grammy Awards," 7 p.m., CBS. The Grammys always put on a strong show. This is live entertainment with the emphasis on people who can really perform not just look good in a video. There's also a bonus: Jon Stewart the witty anchor of the wonderful "Daily Show" returns as host. Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Pink and Mya will repeat their overcrowded "Lady Marmalade," with Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott joining. Lots of musicians are set to appear Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child, Nelly, U2, Dave Matthews, 'N Sync, Outcast, Train, Alejandro Sanz plus country's Alan Jackson and the bluegrass singers from the soundtrack of "O Brother Where Art Thou?" Meanwhile, Al Green will get the Lifetime Achievement Award and do a gospel medley with Brian McKnight. This should be fun.
Of Note
"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. Kelly Ripa is known as Regis Philbin's talk-show partner. She's also a soap actress, however, and tonight she plays a mysterious beauty who lures Ed into an eccentric romance.
