Rainbow basketball team falls to Nevada, 79-69

Advertiser Staff

Lady Luck abandoned the University of Hawai'i in Reno today when the Rainbow Warriors fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack, 79 to 69.

Playing in Reno at the Lawlor Events Center, the Wolf Pack outshot Hawaii, dashing the 'Bows hopes to land the No. 1 seed in next week's WAC Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.

Hawai'i had never earned the top seed in 18 years of the WAC Tournament.

The No. 1 WAC seed has in the past advanced to the NCAA Tournament, either by winning the tournament or by receiving an at-large bid, in 17 of those 18 years.
