Peasant blouses, denim with leather, chiffon, embroidery, hippie chic — the latest trends will take to the runway tomorrow night at "Spring Palette" as models wearing the fashions of Adasa Hawaii, Morgan, Esprit and Pink C strut their stuff in an event put on by Ad2 Honolulu as a fund-raiser for Hale Kipa.

Adasa Hawaii, designed by Donna Loren, 1960s icon of beach movies and the familiar Dr. Pepper Girl, will present her hip line of clothing and accessories crafted from French imported textiles. The Big Island-based designer will select pieces from her newest shop, in the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

In addition to her Hawai'i-influenced designs (with matching shoes she has made through special arrangement with Donald Pliner), Loren will show Marc Jacobs' trend-setting peasant tops, as well as edgy designs from Chaiken, Earl Jean and James Perse.

Pink C will present Morgan, a popular Paris export, whose take on spring encompasses hippie chic and Western wear (denim with leather for an all-out cowgirl look), as well as soft chiffon effects.

The designs of Maui's Tamara Catz, a casual resort line with a sharp edge, will also be part of Pink C's lineup.

In addition to fashions, the evening will showcase up-and-coming Hawai'i artists and a plethora of wines, with a tasting of more than 50 supplied by Tamura's Fine Wines and Liquors.

'Ukulele sensation Jake Shimabukuro will provide entertainment, and a local deejay will mix the latest hits.

Ad2, a nationally-affiliated group of advertising executives 32 and younger, selected Hale Kipa from among 26 candidates for recipients of the organization's yearlong, no-charge promotional services. The event will provide money for the Ad2 campaign, with a goal of creating television, radio and print public service announcements. Each year Hale Kipa serves 900 runaway teens in need of a safe house.
