Queen now graces Kapi'olani Park

Hawaiian community members paid tribute to Queen Kapi'olani at a ceremony Monday to unveil a statue in the Waikiki park that bears her name. Created by sculptor Holly Young, the statue depicts the regent who married King David Kalakaua and reigned from 1874 to 1891.
