Advertiser Staff and News Services
Fuji Television, one of Japan's top national networks, Jan. 9-10 will broadcast a morning talk show live from the Sheraton Moana Surfrider to help boost tourism to the state.
Fuji spokesman Junji Kishikawa said the television network wants to support Hawai'i, New York and Okinawa, three popular destinations for Japanese tourists that were hurt by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Fuji broadcast its morning "Mezamashi" TV show from New York last month and plans to broadcast from Okinawa after Hawai'i, he said.
Norikazu Otsuka and Natsuko Kojima, the regular anchors for the program, will be the hosts of the Hawai'i shows, which will feature hula dancing, weddings in Hawai'i, local cuisine and Hawai'i fashions.
