Sierra Club invites public to outings

The Sierra Club O'ahu chapter is encouraging the public to participate in its wilderness service projects, hikes and other outings.

Here are the club's outings for the first four months of this year:

• Jan. 5: Ka'ena Point service project. Call 538-6616.

• Jan. 6: Three-mile family hike, Maunawili. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Pali Highway hairpin turn. $3 fee. Call 732-4489.

• Jan. 12: Ala Wai Boat Harbor cleanup. Meet at 8 a.m. at the harbor master's office. Call 538-6616.

• Jan. 19: Kawa'ewa'e Heiau service project. Call 538-6616.

• Jan. 26: Miconia service project, Maunawili. Call 538-6616.

• Feb. 2: Pahole service project, Maunawili. Call 538-6616.

• Feb. 9: Miconia service project, Manoa. Call 538-6616.

• March 2: Ka'ena Point service project. Call 538-6616.

• March 3: 3-mile family hike, Mokule'ia. Meet at the Ka'ena end of Farrington Highway. $3 fee. Call 732-4489.

• March 9: Miconia service project, Nu'uanu. Call 538-6616.

• March 16: Kawa'ewa'e Heiau service project. Call 538-6616.

• April 6: Pahole service project, Maunawili. Call 538-6616.

• April 7: 3-mile family hike, Kahuku. Meet at the Kahuku Sugar Mill parking lot. $3 fee. Call 732-4489.
