Veteran rockers U2 received nods for Song of the Year and Album of the year.

"My spirit is flying and I want to jump and shout," said India.Arie. The numerous nominations were surprising because India.Arie's disc was only a moderate success in sales, in comparison to the year's biggest sensation, Alicia Keys, whose "Songs in A Minor" sold 4.1 million copies. She received six nominations.

Song of the Year: "Drops of Jupiter," Charlie Colin, Rob Hotchkiss, Pat Monahan, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood (Train); "Fallin'," Alicia Keys (Alicia Keys); "I'm Like a Bird," Nelly Furtado (Nelly Furtado); "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of," U2 (U2); "Video," India.Arie, Carlos "Six July" Broady and Shannon Sanders (India.Arie).
New Artist: Nelly Furtado, David Gray, India.Arie, Alicia Keys, Linkin Park.
