Entertainer to stand trial in Kaimuki kidnap case

Associated Press

A District Court judge has ruled that entertainer Jeff Rasmussen and another man must stand trial for allegedly holding a Kaimuki man at knifepoint Dec. 29 and forcing him to sign over ownership of his truck and two mopeds.

Bail for the musician and Thomas Reed-Freimark was set at $50,000 each. They will be arraigned Jan. 17.

Both were charged with kidnapping and robbery. Reed-Freimark also was charged with terroristic threatening.

The resident of a 19th Avenue home said Reed-Freimark punched him and then held a knife to his neck while forcing him to sign the ownership papers, according to court documents. Investigators say the Kaimuki man and Rasmussen had argued over some repairs he was supposed to make on Rasmussen's car.
