JACOB Y. KIM, 87, proprietor of the former Royal Pharmacy in Waikiki, died Oct. 21, 2001. Served for many years on the Board of Pharmacy. Past president of Hawai'i Pharmaceutical Association and Hawai'i Retail Druggist Association. Chosen pharmacist of the year in 1960 and recipient of the Bowl of Hygiea Award and the 50 Years Service Award in 1990. Fought for the fair trade bill and was a delegate to the National Association of Retail Druggists. Later, proprietor of his own practice at 'Ewa Beach Shopping Center. Survived by wife, Mildred; son, Dennis; daughter, Louanne Matsler; five grandchildren. Private service held at Nuuanu Mortuary, followed by burial.

TATSUKO KODAMA, 85, of Hilo, Hawai'i, died Jan. 3, 2002. Born in Hilo. A food handler for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. A member of Club 50 and Hilo Women's Bowling Leagues.
