Get healthy with UH football team

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team may not have received permission for that 13th game, but it will be in action today at Bishop Museum.

Members of this season's Warrior squad will be on hand to promote health and wellness as part of the museum's Family Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Great Lawn.

Kids of all ages are invited to join the players in warmups, drills and a talk-story session between noon and 2 p.m. Kids can also enter a drawing to scrimmage with the team.

"Hawaii Diet" guru Dr. Terry Shintani will be on hand to introduce his new book, "The Good Carbohydrate Revolution."

Other attractions include free massages, demonstrations of some of the latest exercise and martial arts trends, entertainment by Kupa'aina, traditional Hawaiian games and other interactive activities, as well as healthy food samplings.

For plant lovers, rare Hawaiian and endangered plants from the museum's Amy Greenwell Ethno-botanical Garden will also be on sale.

Admission is $3 per person or $10 for a family of four (two adults plus two children ages 4 to 12).
