Armed men rob lounge

Two armed robbers early yesterday held up the Young Street Lounge at Young and Pi'ikoi streets.

The men, armed with handguns, entered the bar at 1:20 a.m. and demanded money, the owner said. One is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and of medium build, and the other man is described as 6 feet 2 and weighing about 220 pounds.

Both robbers fled on foot.


Man held up in parking lot

A Ke'eaumoku Street parking lot attendant was robbed by an armed man with a male accomplice late Saturday night.

The men approached the attendant of the lot, located near Liona Street, at 10:10 p.m. One, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds, pointed a handgun and demanded money. He also was described as 20 to 30 years old and wearing a T-shirt and jeans. There was no description of the second robber.

After taking the money, the pair fled on foot.


Woman taking walk attacked at Diamond Head

Police are seeking a man described as Asian in a case of attempted kidnapping, in which a woman taking a walk around Diamond Head was attacked Saturday night.

The woman, a 23-year-old Waikiki resident, was walking on the 3600 block of Diamond Head Road about 6:30 p.m. The man struck up a conversation with her at a Diamond Head lookout, police said.

She continued on her walk and at the next lookout, the man drove up in a small foreign, white four-door car, got out and grabbed the woman from behind. After a struggle, the victim escaped and the man drove away.

The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a stocky build. He had a slight mustache.


City bus ride turns violent

Two men were arrested Friday night after a fracas aboard a city bus that ended with one hurling a garbage can at the bus and another tossing a tire chock block at the driver, narrowly missing him.

Three men, who witnesses described as drunk, entered the bus at the Windward City Shopping Center at 6:42 p.m. and sat in the back.

When the driver advised them to move closer to the front, an argument broke out and one attacked the driver. A passenger helped to remove the three, and then one re-entered and threw the chock block at the driver. Another threw the garbage can at the bus, hitting it twice and causing exterior damage.

Two men were arrested by police patrol officers. They are described as 18 years old; there is no description of the third man.
