Weekly honors

IKAIKA ALAMA-FRANCIS

Kalaheo basketball

Senior forward scored a game-high 21 points to help the Mustangs to a victory over Castle in their OIA East season opener, then had a game-high 17 points in a 39-33 victory over Moanalua. Both wins came on the road.

RASHAUN BROADUS

Mililani basketball

Senior guard scored 20 of his game-high 22 points in the first half of a victory over Kapolei in the regular season opener, then scored 19 points in a win over Wai'anae to help the Trojans to a 2-0 start in the OIA West.

KAINOA FERNANDEZ

St. Louis basketball

Senior scored a game-high 23 points to help the Crusaders squeeze past Punahou, 70-69, in overtime in an ILH Division II regular-season opener.

TIARA KUKAHIKO

Lahainaluna softball

Sophomore right-hander earned two complete-game victories over Maui, including a two-hitter.

SATOSHI MITSUDA

Punahou soccer

Scored both goals in the Buffanblu's 2-0 victory over Iolani in a key ILH showdown and two more goals in a victory over Damien.

JASON PETERS

Kaiser basketball

Senior guard scored 16 points against Moanalua and 12 points against Kalani to help the Cougars to a 2-0 start in the OIA East Division.

KULA TANUVASA

Radford basketball

Scored 19 points in a victory over Waipahu and 11 against Kapolei to help the Rams to a 2-0 start in the OIA West.

KANANI VENTURA

Maui softball

Senior shortstop had a solo home run in a loss to Lahainaluna, then went 3-for-3 the next day as the Sabers fell short against Lahainaluna, 3-2.

KAPENA WONG

Pearl City basketball

Scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth period to lead the Chargers to a 51-47 victory over Waipahu, and had 10 points in another victory over Nanakuli.
