Man arrested in Waialua fatality

Police arrested a 24-year-old Pearl City man on suspicion of negligent homicide in the case after a man was killed just before 9 last night in a collision on Kaukonahua Road in Waialua.

Police said a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe crossed over a double line and collided with a 1990 Toyota pickup truck heading northeast, about a half-mile southeast of Farrington Highway.

The Tahoe climbed over the left side of the pickup, crushing the driver's side. The victim, a 38-year-old Waialua man, died at the scene.
