Hearing set in Kapahulu shooting case

Advertiser Staff

A preliminary hearing of a Kapahulu man charged with second-degree attempted murder is set for tomorrow in District Court. He is accused in a November shooting in which the victim lost her left eye.

Bail was set at $100,000 for David A. Harraway, 32, who was charged Tuesday in the case.

According to court documents, the victim, 26, had accompanied her boyfriend to Harraway's home on Brokaw Street, where the boyfriend planned to collect rent money from women who also lived there. An argument broke out, and Harraway came from the kitchen area carrying a shotgun.

The boyfriend ran toward his car and heard shots fired, according to court records. When his companions picked him up in the car, he discovered his girlfriend had been shot in the face, an injury that caused her to lose her left eye.
