College-bound freshmen and continuing college students frustrated with trying to comprehend the often-confusing student financial-aid system can get some help at College Goal Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Kapolei Middle School cafeteria.

Students and their families will receive free assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, the federal application required by most colleges, universities and vocational and technical schools in the nation.

The event "really is to facilitate the completion of the initial financial-aid application and to make it as easy as possible," said co-chairman Frank Green.

Students need to bring their 2001 IRS 1040 tax returns and their parents' returns if the student is under age 23, plus W-2 forms or other 2001 income and benefits information. Call 455-0606 or 591-2708, or visit pacfaa.org for details.
