Viloria's next fight is Feb. 24

Advertiser Staff

Undefeated Brian Viloria could be fighting his final six-rounder when he appears on a made-for-ESPN boxing card Feb. 24.

Viloria will meet an as yet unnamed opponent at an Ohio River casino in Belterra, Ind. The bout is scheduled for 112 pounds over six rounds.

Viloria, Sydney Olympian from Waipahu, ran his record to 5-0 with a third-round technical knockout of Antonio Perez Ontiveros earlier this month.

Gary Gittelsohn, Viloria's manager, said he would likely look at either an 8- or 10-round bout for Viloria after that and is hoping to get him a fight in Honolulu.

"It is clear to me that he is capable of a 10-rounder right now, but we don't want to rush him along," Gittelsohn said. "The problem is that we were hoping he would have been tested more than he was in the last fight but he took his opponent out so quickly. It is a nice problem to have, though."

Viloria has only had to go past four rounds once in his five fights, scoring three TKOs.

He is currently training in Hollywood, Calif.
