HPU basketball wins on road, 68-60

Nash Subotic scored a game-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Hawai'i Pacific past Western New Mexico University last night, 68-60, in a Pacific West Conference men's basketball game at Silver City, N.M.

The Sea Warriors improved to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in conference. Joey Ramirez led Western (1-9, 0-4) with 28 points.

• Montana State-Billings 89, BYU-Hawai'i 78: Dan Thompson scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift Montana State-Billings past visiting Brigham Young-Hawai'i in a PacWest men's basketball game last night.

Montana State-Billings (12-3, 2-2 PacWest) also got 15 points from David Carse. Scott Salisbury led BYUH (10-6, 1-2) with 17 points and a game-high 20 rebounds.

BASEBALL

• UHH game rained out: Last night's game between the University of Hawaii-Hilo and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at Wong Stadium in Hilo was rained out.

The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader today at Wong starting at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
