The new scoreboard at the University of Hawai'i was installed last week and will be unveiled at the UH baseball opener Jan. 30 against Florida State.
"I'm sure we'll be one of a few in college baseball that has this (type of scoreboard)," said Jim Donovan, associate athletic director at UH.
The total cost of the scoreboard including installation and refurbishing was "around $250,000, give or take $5,000," Donovan said.
Donovan said a technician will be arriving Sunday and the scoreboard should be working "sometime next week."
Donovan credited contributions totaling $100,000 from Pepsi and Budweiser for defraying some of the total cost.
A dedication to rename the baseball facility Les Murakami Stadium also will be held before the Jan. 30 opener.
"In my opinion, it's long overdue both the naming of the stadium and the scoreboard," said Donovan, referring to the former UH coach.
