Bookmobile in the shop for repairs

Advertiser Staff

The O'ahu Bookmobile, which serves 11 locations in Leeward and Windward O'ahu, is temporarily sidelined.

"The bookmobile is in the repair shop, and we are waiting for them to let us know it's ready," said Les Yanagi, Sunday/Holiday Librarian for the State Public Library System.

"We are waiting for parts that had to be sent from the Mainland. As soon as it arrives, they will work on it."

Yanagi said the bookmobile could be ready to operate by Feb. 1, or take longer, depending on when the parts arrive and how much work needs to be done.

A State Library press release said the bookmobile might be out of circulation "for a few weeks."

The bookmobile is usually stationed at the Pearl City Public Library and operates in the Leeward area on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and the Windward side on Thursday and Friday.
