Airline chief, governor meet

Aloha Airlines president Glenn Zander met with Gov. Ben Cayetano yesterday and said the governor agreed to continue to support the proposed merger between his airline and Hawaiian Airlines.

Cayetano said last week that he was reconsidering his support for the proposed merger after Zander disputed reports that his airline was on the verge of failure.

Hawaiian and Aloha airlines proposed a merger last month after suffering losses in the wake of Sept. 11.
