AIKO HAMURA, who used to sell her saimin noodles and produce from the back of her old black Ford sedan in Lihu'e, Kaua'i, working the plantation residential camps, died Jan. 21 at age 91. She left a business that had grown into a saimin restaurant known to noodle connoisseurs across the state: Hamura Saimin. See story.

THE REV. GERARD J. LEICHT, who worked in Hawai'i for more than 50 years as a Roman Catholic priest, died here Thursday. He was 82. See story.

EDWARD L.K. GOMEZ, 64, of Honolulu, died Jan. 21, 2002. Born in Ho-nolulu. She devoted her life to peace and worked for the Girl Scouts of America and on various committees for the American Friends Service Committee and the Honolulu Friend Meeting.
