AIKO HAMURA, who used to sell her saimin noodles and produce from the back of her old black Ford sedan in Lihu'e, Kaua'i, working the plantation residential camps, died Jan. 21 at age 91. She left a business that had grown into a saimin restaurant known to noodle connoisseurs across the state: Hamura Saimin. See story.

THE REV. GERARD J. LEICHT, who worked in Hawai'i for more than 50 years as a Roman Catholic priest, died here Thursday. He was 82. See story.
