COLD STONE CREAMERY will open a new store at 310 Kamake'e St., in the Ward Entertainment center. The stores sell freshly made ice cream and frozen yogurt, customized with a variety of mix-ins. The chain has shops in Waikiki and on Maui.

• A franchise of REMEDY INTELLIGENT STAFFING has opened in the Kaimuki Business Plaza, 3465 Wai'alae Ave. Suite 330. Owners are Marie Kumabe, former director of human resources for American Hawai'i Cruises and most recently director of internship and career development for the University of Hawai'i's School of Travel Industry Management, and Kristi Inkinen, formerly of Inkinen and Associates, a family-owned executive placement business. In addition to full-service staffing services for the employer or prospective employee, the company offers testing to match the job applicant with prospective employers.

NEXTEL PARTNERS INC. has opened an 800-square-foot retail store in 'Aiea's Westridge Shopping Center, 98-150 Ka'onohi St., Suite B-216 (across from Circuit City).
