Woman faces federal drug charges

HILO, Hawai'i — A Big Island woman arrested during a five-day marijuana eradication operation was turned over to federal drug agents yesterday.

Lenora Aitcheson, 46, of Mountain View, had been in held in the Hilo police cellblock since her arrest Friday. She faces federal prosecution.

Vice officers found 911 marijuana plants growing on her property and inside her house, said Lt. Chadwick Fukui.

Along with the plants allegedly found at Aitcheson's home, police uprooted more than 13,500 other marijuana plants in Puna, Hilo and North Hilo during last week's eradication effort.
