Denise DeCosta, spokesperson for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, said crews restore service to the last customers affected, residents of Old Mokapu Road, by about 7:30 a.m.

The break was discovered at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday when water appeared on the roadway on Mokapu Boulevard, near 'Aikahi Place, DeCosta said.

The leak was traced to a four-inch line, but the roadway had to be dug up to isolate the adjacent 20-inch main in order to repair the leak, she added. This required a shutdown of service to about 100 customers intially, but water was turned back on for most of these homes as repairs progressed through the night, DeCosta said.
