Tonight's Must-Sees

"Gilmore Girls," 5 p.m., WB. This reruns the episode that introduced Jess, the brooding teenager. His uncle, Luke, is worried about him. Rory, however, is intrigued.

"Great Projects: The Building of America," 10 p.m., PBS. A four-week look at huge public works. The opener views efforts to control the Mississippi and Colorado rivers.

Of Note

"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. Andy Richter guest stars as a former member of Ed's rock band. Meanwhile, Phil wants to get a high school equivalent diploma without studying.

"My Wife and Kids," 7 p.m., ABC. Charlie Robinson and Denise Nicholas are Michael's visiting parents. Alas, wife and mother don't get along.
