TAG's 'Anna' premieres July 17

The Actors' Group's "Anna," a two-character production based on a play by East Honolulu resident Nancy Moss, will have its world premiere at 7:30 p.m. July 17 at the Yellow Brick Studio, 625 Keawe St. in Kaka'ako.

Frankie Enos and Peter Webb co-star, with Brad Powell directing.

Enos plays Russian poet Anna Akhmatova, and Webb plays philosopher Isaiah Berlin. In the post-World War II tale, set in Leningrad, the poet, a beautiful woman who loved many men, allows a Western traveler who is also an Oxford professor to visit her. Berlin was 36, nearly 20 years younger than Akhmatova, and a virgin. The play dramatizes their evening together and how both lives changed.

The play will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, through Aug. 18. Tickets: $10. Reservations (after July 10): 591-7999.
