Wind, wetness here for a while

Get used to the rain showers and gusty trades. They're sticking around for another week, the National Weather Service says.
The rains may be more frequent than usual, but they won't be heavy, said National Weather Service hydrologist Kevin Kodama.
The rainy weather is caused by an upper-level low and stronger trade winds forecast at 15 to 25 mph over the week, Kodama said.
"June was hot and dry, with August and September usually our driest and warmest months," Kodama said. "But during the summer there are always wet periods."
Tom Schroeder of the University of Hawai'i's meteorology department said he judges a wet summer on the basis of how Diamond Head looks.
"Today it is brown. Definitely brown," he said. "In August 1982, Diamond Head was green. Now that was an unusual, rainy year."
