CB Bancshares Inc. was added to the Russell 2000 index late last month when the Frank Russell company reconstituted its family of U.S. indexes.
"The inclusion as a member of the Russell 2000 index means that Wall Street has recognized our efforts in recent years to increase shareholder value," said Ronald K. Migita, president and chief executive of the Hawai'i bankholding company.
Membership in Russell's 21 U.S. equity indexes is determined by market capitalization rankings and style attributes.
CB Bancshares has more than $1.5 billion in assets and owns City Bank, which operates 20 branches on O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island.
