Woman charged for firing gun

A 37-year-old Kalihi woman was charged yesterday with firing a handgun at her boyfriend's car.

Eden Iha was charged with first-degree reckless endangering, terroristic threatening and other charges. She was being held on $33,000 bond last night.

Iha's 31-year-old boyfriend told police that he was upset with her on Sunday, so he packed her bags and left them at the front door of their home. The boyfriend then left for a friend's house to work on his car, police said.

A woman, identified by police as Iha, drove to the house, got out of her car and began shouting at the boyfriend. The woman then took out a handgun and fired a shot at his car, police said.

The two struggled for the gun, but police said the woman fired another shot, which hit the home. She then drove off. The man was not injured, police said.

O'ahu man indicted in sex assault case

An O'ahu man was indicted by an O'ahu grand jury yesterday on four counts of third-degree sexual assault for allegedly fondling two Kailua girls, ages 13 and 14, whom police believe he met via an Internet chat room.

Kevin W. Uhrle, 31, who was arrested and charged in the case last week, remains free on $20,000 bail.

The girls told police they invited Uhrle to the Kailua home of one of them June 15 and were assaulted.

Couple crash stolen vehicle

A man and woman were arrested yesterday after they wrecked a stolen Nissan Pathfinder in Iwilei, police said.

Officers responded to calls that the Pathfinder had rolled several times about 5:55 a.m. at the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Pacific Street.

They said they found the woman driver and her male passenger standing on the side of the road.

The vehicle's license plates revealed it had been stolen and the pair were arrested, police said.
