AlohaCare gives to health groups

Local nonprofit organizations have received nearly $125,000 in financial support from the AlohaCare Neighbors Program to improve the quality of health in Hawai'i's neighborhoods. The recipients are:

Priory school history valued

St. Andrew's Priory School has received an $11,860 grant from the Margaret Hall Foundation to preserve historic documents and the oral history of St. Andrew's Priory School.

"St. Andrew's Priory is part of a historic corner of downtown Honolulu and offers a glimpse into Hawai'i's past. Thanks to the generous grant of the Margaret Hall Foundation, the photos and oral history of the school will be preserved for future generations to enjoy and learn from," said Caroline Ward Oda, head of St. Andrew's School.


Seto Foundation awards $2,000

The Seto Foundation recently awarded a grant of $2,000 to Malama Na Keiki Foundation to be used toward child abuse and neglect prevention activities for children from newborn to 5 years old.

The private family foundation chaired by Dr. Dudley S.J. Seto made the contribution in recognition of the successful grassroots results that Malama Na Keiki Foundation has achieved in providing support for safe and healthy homes for Hawai'i's keiki.

The foundation has provided support so far this year to keiki clients and families of Adult Friends for Youth, Catholic Charities of Hawai'i, Domestic Violence Clearinghouse & Legal Hotline, Family Support Services of West Hawai'i, Hawai'i Family Support Center, Maui Family Support Services, Parents and Children Together, Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii and Special Olympics Hawai'i.
