'Disney on Ice' shows planned for September

"Disney on Ice," a skating production showcasing the classic characters and music from the entertainment company's productions, will play the Blaisdell Arena Sept. 6-15.

The family show, marking Walt Disney's 100 Years of Magic, is the 20th edition. It features many Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pinocchio, the Mouseketeers, Buzz Lightyear and Woody from "Toy Story," with segments from "Mulan," "A Bug's Life" and "The Lion King."

Skaters will perform to Disney hit songs, some Academy Award winners, including "When You Wish Upon a Star," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah," "Beauty and the Beast," "Under the Sea" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."

Twenty performances are slated during the 10-day run. Showtimes:

  • Sept. 6, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 7, noon, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 8, 10:30 a.m., 2:30 and 6 p.m.
  • Sept. 10, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 11, 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 13, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 14, noon, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m., 2:30 and 6 p.m.

Tickets, at $50, $40, $25 and $15, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at the box offices of Ticket Plus locations, including Foodland and Sack 'N Save stores.
