Movie Openings

"Emperor's New Clothes": What if Napoleon did not die in exile but was smuggled back to civilization and led a very different life? Ian Holm stars as the emperor and his double in this fanciful tale based on a 1992 novel. Opens tomorrow at Restaurant Row 9 Art House Theaters and Varsity Twin. (PG)

"Escaflowne: The Movie": Anime from Japan: Hitomi, a Japanese high school girl, escapes her reverie of depression on Earth by traveling to the alternate world of Gaea. There she meets Van, an enigmatic young king who will determine the fate of countries with a mystical dragon armor called Escaflowne. Opens tomorrow at Restaurant Row 9 Art House Theaters. (PG-13)

"K-19: The Widowmaker": Harrison Ford stars in a drama about a Soviet submarine whose malfunction threatens to bring on World War III.
