Kono, Oride one back at Junior Worlds

Stephanie Kono, 12, a Punahou School student, shot a second-round 2-under 60 and is a shot back in the girls' 11-12 division of the 2002 Callaway Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego.
Kono's two-day total of 121 on the par-62 junior course layout is a shot back of Thailand's Sukintorn Saensradi, who shot a 61 yesterday.
Joy Kim of Kea'au shot a 62 and is tied for fourth at 123 in the division.
In the girls 8 division, Kelli Oride of Lihu'e shot a second-round 60 and is a shot back of Dottie Ardina of the Phillippines. Oride also shot a 60 in the first round and is at 120.
In the girls' 9-10 division, Kimberly Kim of Pahoa is tied for third at 113, seven shots behind Tayna Wadhwa of India.
In the boys' 9-10 division, Bradley Shigezawa of Honolulu is tied for sixth at 114, six strokes behind Byeong Hun An of South Korea.
They are among a large contingent of Hawai'i golfers competing in the tournament.
The final round in the boys and girls age groups of 8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 will be held today. The third round for ages 15-17 will be held today with the final round tomorrow.
