Running

  • July 28—Mid-Pacific Road Runners Club 4.4 Mile Kailua Beach Run. Registration at the Lanikai Boat Ramp starting at 6:15 a.m. Race at 7 a.m. Run on the sand at the edge of the ocean. A double loop of Lanikai. Fee: $5 for non-members and $2 for members of MPRRC. Information: 295-6777.
  • Sept. 21—Deadline for the Third Annual Niketown 5K Run & Kids Run. Race Oct. 6, at 7 a.m. Start and finish at Niketown Honolulu. Fee: $10 for 18-younger. $15 for 19-older. Tennis

  • Aug. 2—Hawai'i Senior Sectionals deadline. At Diamond Head Tennis Center, Aug. 9-11. Men's and women's singles and doubles. Entrants must be USTA members and Hawai'i residents. Tournament is required to be considered for USTA ranking and for state and sectional tournaments. Cost: $3.50 for singles; $5 per doubles team.
