Advertiser News Services

The Denver Nuggets have signed rookies Predrag Savovic, Vincent Yarbrough and Lorinza Harrington to contracts, General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced yesterday.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Savovic, 26, averaged 20.3 points per game at the University of Hawai'i last season. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound guard is Hawai'i's all-time leader in 3-point field goals.

He led Ha-wai'i to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in his junior and senior seasons.

Savovic, who is from Yugoslavia, played three seasons for the Rainbows after starting his career with Alabama-Birmingham.

Savovic went undrafted and considered playing in Europe before opting for the Nuggets.

Yarbrough, a second-round pick, averaged 18.1 points per game as a senior at the University of Tennessee last season.

Harrington averaged 14.8 points per game while shooting .515 from the field as a senior at Wingate University last season.

Denver, which finished 27-55 last season, dealt top player Antonio McDyess to the New York Knicks on June 26.
