Union pickets arrested last week face arraignment
Associated Press
A hotel workers union official and 25 members arrested Wednesday during picketing at the Hilton Hawaiian Village as part of a contract dispute face a court hearing this morning.
The members of Local 5 Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees and union secretary-treasurer Eric Gill were arrested for blocking the driveway into the hotel.
The union recently canceled its contract extensions covering 2,500 workers with the Sheraton hotels in Waikiki and 1,500 workers at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Those who were arrested during the picketing at the Hilton are scheduled for arraignment in Honolulu District Court.
