Culinary Calendar

FRIDAY

  • Year of the horse wine tasting and pupu, 5-7 p.m., Sam Choy's Diamond Head, featuring wines from Wild Horse Vineyards, Close Pegase Vineyard and Rocking Horse Vineyard with "campfire" pupu by executive chef Elmer Guzman. $20. Reservations: 732-8645.

SATURDAY

  • ISLAND FLAVORS TASTING, noon-2 p.m. Macy's Ala Moana Center, Cellar, Level 4. Products include Keith's Cookies, Kona Joa coffees, Hawaiian Host chocolates, Pacific Place teas and other products, Tahitian Goddess condiments and Auntie Nalani Cookies. TUESDAY

  • Wrath of Grapes, Indigo Wine Club, 6 p.m. every Tuesday, Indigo Eurasian Cuisine; wine sampling with pupu plate, $20; limited seating. Reservations: 521-2900.

COMING UP

  • TIP-A-COP FUNDRAISER, features law-enforcement professionals waiting tables at Ward Centre and Ward Warehouse as a benefit for Special Olympics Hawaii, at lunch (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) and dinner (5-9 p.m.) July 31 at Compadres Bar & Grill, Brew Moon, Ryan's Grill, Sushi Masa, Scoozee's, Stuart Anderson's Cattle Co., The Old Spaghetti Factory, Yum Yum Tree and other eateries. A portion of the proceeds from the meals for that day go to Special Olympics Hawaii.
