The name of state House 6th District candidate Marni Herkes was misspelled in a list of candidates posted yesterday. Another listing incorrectly described the Maui County election process. In a race with three or more candidates, the top two vote-getters in the primary election advance to the general election. When there are only two candidates in a race, both candidates automatically advance to the general election.
Construction of the John A. Burns School of Medicine will bring with it an expected 1,100 permanent jobs and 600 to 700 construction jobs. In a Local News story posted last Wednesday, University of Hawai'i president Evan Dobelle mistakenly said 6,000 new jobs would be created.
