• The name of state House 6th District candidate Marni Herkes was misspelled in a list of candidates posted yesterday. Another listing incorrectly described the Maui County election process. In a race with three or more candidates, the top two vote-getters in the primary election advance to the general election. When there are only two candidates in a race, both candidates automatically advance to the general election.

• Construction of the John A. Burns School of Medicine will bring with it an expected 1,100 permanent jobs and 600 to 700 construction jobs. In a Local News story posted last Wednesday, University of Hawai'i president Evan Dobelle mistakenly said 6,000 new jobs would be created.
