Birch promoted at Waikoloa

Ross Birch, operations manager at Waikoloa Beach Resort's Kings' Course, has been promoted to head golf professional at the resort's Beach Course.

Birch will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the course, including supervising the golf shop staff and coordinating special tournament events.

Birch, who has been with the Big Island resort since 1990, also served as golf sales manager for the Kings' Course. He served as tournament director for the LPGA's Takafuji Classic, which was held at the Beach Course last February.
