Two somebodies in 'You Somebody'

Ray Bumatai and Loretta Ables Sayre lead the cast of "You Somebody," the new stage production about the fictional Lusa family whose matriarch (Ables Sayre) is determined to make it into the Show Biz column written by The Advertiser's own Wayne Harada. Sneak peek: Three former Miss Hawai'is — Patricia Lei Murray, Candes Meijide-Gentry and Cheryl Toma Sanders — have featured roles as sort of a chorus of fairy godmothers; they alone are worth the price of admission. The musical comedy, by playwright/Advertiser columnist Lee Cataluna and directed by Mark Lutwak with music and lyrics by Keola Beamer, continues at Diamond Head Theatre. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, and 4 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 11. Tickets are $10-$40. 733-0274. The Advertiser is a sponsor.
