Tonight's Must-See

"Gotta Kick It Up," premiere, 8 and 9:40 p.m., Disney Channel. Director Ramon Menendez has already made a brilliant movie ("Stand and Deliver") about a real-life high school teacher. Now he gives us a milder, but worthy, real-life tale. Arriving as part of the Teacher Corps, a young woman (played by Susan Egan) wanted to focus on science class. Soon, however, she was nudged into coaching a school dance team. Injecting ethnic flavor into their dance moves, young Latinas triumphed. Camille Guaty, America Ferrera and others shine in a movie that is upbeat, up-tempo and, despite some swerves, uplifting.

Of Note

"Nine Months" (1995), 5 p.m., ABC Family. This mild-mannered movie seemed like an adequate situation comedy, so it should work well here. Julianne Moore finds she's pregnant. Hugh Grant, her boyfriend, finds this will take some adjustments.

"The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999), 8 and 10:15 p.m., TNT. Slick, smart and stylish, this remake is worth seeing again. Pierce Brosnan plays a gorgeous industrialist who steals art. Rene Russo is a gorgeous investigator who's supposed to catch him. The plot has wonderful twists and director John McTiernan gives this OAffair" a great look.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Michael O'Keefe and Khrystyne Haje (OHead of the Class") guest star in a story about a woman's body found under a highway.
