Merger rescues Aquasearch firm

Advertiser Staff

A Mainland investor has completed plans to buy Kailua-Kona research firm Aquasearch, the final step in a plan to rescue the company from Bankruptcy Court.

Aquasearch has merged into Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc., whose chairman, Richard Propper, is a California investor who gave Aquasearch emergency financing after the company was forced into Bankruptcy Court last fall.

Aquasearch stock is now trading as Mera stock on the over-the-counter bulletin board, under the ticker symbol MRPI.OB.
